Joe grew up in Brewster, NY. He attended Brewster High School and was a three-sport athlete for all four years playing football, ice hockey, and lacrosse. At Brewster High, Joe was ranked 16th in a graduating class of 260 students, and received an academic scholarship to Quinnipiac University.
At Quinnipiac, Joe walked on to the Varsity Men’s Lacrosse team as a freshman before being awarded an athletic scholarship his junior year. Joe played for the lacrosse team all four years, and was named a team captain his senior season. In addition to his success on the field, Joe received academic honors for posting the highest GPA on the lacrosse team for all of his four years on the team. As a junior, he represented Quinnipiac at the NCAA National Leadership Conference. Joe went on to receive his Bachelors Degree in Economics while graduating with a 3.75 GPA and receiving Magna Cum Laude honors.
After graduation, Joe was accepted into and joined Teach For America where he taught six years in Bronx, NY. During his time in the Bronx, Joe was hired as the head coach for the Boys Varsity Lacrosse Team at Mount St. Michael Academy. As head coach, Joe led his team to the schools first and only CHSAA City Championship, and was named Coach of the Year.
Currently, Joe is teaching 7th grade math at Port Chester Middle School, and completed his Administrative degree in the summer of 2015.
