Nicole Barros was born and raised in Port Chester, NY. She was raised by her mother, who is a single parent, and she also has a little sister who attends Port Chester schools. Nicole attended Port Chester High School where she was part of three athletic teams. She played for the women’s basketball team, volleyball team, and she ran track and field. Nicole was the tenth student to be chosen to be part of the STEER program. In 2018 she graduated from Port Chester High School and went off to continue her education in Albany, NY.
Nicole went off to attend The University At Albany (SUNY) for two years before transferring out to John Jay College of Criminal Justice (CUNY). During her time at Albany she completed an internship at The Center of Law and Justice as well as working at the university’s Center for Leadership and Service. Currently, she is working for STEER as a Student Support Apprentice. Nicole has a passion for helping others and is always ready to give back to her community. She will be graduating in 2023 with a Bachelor’s in Culture, Crime, and Deviance studies.
