​STEER for Student Athletes goes beyond temporary fixes to create lasting change in the population we serve. Since 2012, we have led an initiative committed to empowering at-promise student athletes by helping them achieve their educational, athletic, and personal goals. With the help from donors, community partners, and many other organizational assistance and resources, we have helped bridge the gap our students and their families. Our Programs
Pathletes Program
Our initiative pairs each High School student with a dedicated, high-quality mentor who provides personalized support tailored to their unique needs. When existing services fall short, we introduce innovative, customized solutions to ensure every student receives the help they deserve. Through our Individualized Support Plan (ISP), we identify resource gaps and deliver a comprehensive approach to enhancing student well-being.
College & Career Pathways Program
The College & Career Pathways Program supports students as they transition into higher education and the workforce through four key initiatives: the Wellness Program, Near Peer Program, Internship Program, and College Transition Program. In addition, STEER provides scholarships to help cover tuition, books, and personal expenses. The program is further strengthened by networking opportunities, personalized coaching, and financial literacy advising, ensuring student-athletes succeed in college and beyond.
Alumni Program
We host networking events throughout the year that bring together young professionals, community members, and like-minded individuals to connect, collaborate, and exchange ideas. These events create opportunities to build meaningful relationships, explore partnerships, and expand professional networks. Past events have included a Paint & Sip with the CFO of NBC and a networking dinner featuring STEER community members working in finance, hedge funds, and real estate.
