STEER Student-Athletes Explore Sports Media At Bruce Beck Broadcasting Camp

This summer, STEER student-athletes Pierre Tervil and Jayden Camacho took a major step beyond the playing field by attending the Bruce Beck Sports Broadcasting Camp, an elite program designed to introduce high school students to the fast paced world of sports media. Hosted by NBC sportscaster Bruce Beck, the camp gave Pierre and Jayden the opportunity to sharpen their communication skills, work alongside professional broadcasters, and get a firsthand look at careers in sports journalism, play by play announcing, and on camera reporting. Their participation reflects a strong drive to grow not just as athletes, but as confident leaders with an eye toward future possibilities both in front of the mic and beyond the game.
