The Advisory Council for Empowering Girls, formed in Fall 2017, provides STEER advice and perspectives on issues related to empowering girls through sports engagement. The Council identifies issues, needs, and topics of interest unique to girls from at risk populations participating in high school athletic programming. The Council recommends programs and services that enable STEER’s female students to achieve better personal development and academic outcomes. The Council develops strategies to secure funding to support these programs and services.
