Allison has been teaching Family and Consumer Science at Port Chester Middle School since 2006. In her classroom her curriculum focuses on areas of interpersonal relationships, leadership, community connections, resource management, entrepreneurship, global citizenship, sustainability, food production, nutrition, meal preparation, and cultural food.
Allison is the coordinator of The Port Chester Middle School Giving Garden which harvests over 1000 lbs of fresh, organic fruits and vegetables each year that is distributed to local families in need.
Allison received a BA in Art Education from SUNY New Paltz, and a Master’s Degree in Instructional Technology from NYIT. Allison is also a certified Health Chef and graduate of the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts.
Allison found her calling for service as member of Americorps National Civilian Community Corps where she completed over 1800 hours of community service during a 10 month program.
Allison serves on the Educator Advisory Board for Lead4Change, a National student leadership program. She is also on the planning board for the Cross District Wellness Committee and a member of the Port Chester Sustainability Committee.
