Derek Vincent was born and raised in Port Chester, New York. He attended Port Chester High School as a student-athlete and continued to play basketball in college at Delhi Technology College and Rutgers-Newark in Newark, New Jersey. Derek returned to the Port Chester community after graduation from college to work with youths at Port Chester Carver Center. Derek brings a wealth of youth development and coaching experience. Over eleven years as the Program Director at Port Chester Carver Center, he was successful at establishing new youth and teen programs. Derek was also instrumental in developing the first sports summer program. Derek was passionate about returning to his alma mater, Port Chester High School, to coach the Junior Varsity and Varsity basketball teams. During his time as the Varsity coach, Derek led the team to win three league championship titles. He also had several players that were recruited to go on to play Division 1 college basketball. Derek holds an Associate in Science from Delhi Technology College in Delhi, New York and majored in Business Managment. He also attended Rutgers-Newark in Newark, New Jersey with a Bachelor's in Arts in Business Management. Derek currently holds a NYS Athletic Coaching License.
