Jordan Lewis was born and raised in Port Chester, N.Y. Lewis attended Port Chester High School where he was a dual sport athlete. Lewis was part of the inaugural group of student-athletes that would be inducted into STEER back when it was founded in 2013. While in High School, Lewis would be named captain of the Track & Field Team his junior and senior year, as well as the football team.
On the track, Lewis set several school records in the 55 and 100 meter dashes, and was a four time All-League selection, one time All-Section selection, and a three time State Qualifier. On the football field, Lewis would be named All-League, All-Conference, All Hudson-Valley, and All-Section during his senior year, while also being named to the Section 1 North All-Star team.
Lewis graduated from Port Chester High School in 2018, and would attend Springfield College, where he played football. After two years at Springfield, Lewis would transfer to SUNY Cortland to continue both his academic studies as well as his athletic career, but would participate in track & field. While at Cortland, Lewis was a member of the music production club and wrote numerous sports articles for Cortland’s school newspaper, “The Dragon Chronicle,” covering men’s basketball as well as track & field. He graduated from Cortland in May of 2023 with a B.A. in Communication studies.
Lewis has been extremely busy in the professional world, as he has been able to intern with NBC sports anchor Bruce Beck at Bruce’s sports broadcasting camp over the past 3 years. Lewis was tasked with caring for a small group of aspiring journalists and assisting them with learning the fundamentals of sports journalism. Lewis also engaged with numerous guest speakers in the sports broadcasting industry that would come in to speak to the camp about their careers.
