Samita Mannapperuma was named Chief Financial Officer, NBC Sports in April 2023. She has financial oversight of NBC Sports, which includes NBC Olympics, GOLF Channel, NBC Sports Digital, NBC Sports Next, and NBC Sports Audio. Mannapperuma also oversees business development for NBC Sports.
Mannapperuma has led the business development group for NBC Sports since 2015, most recently as SVP of Business Development, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming since October 2020. In this role, she oversees a team that evaluates business opportunities ranging from national and local rights deals, new business creation, investments, and acquisitions. She has worked on the acquisitions of premium rights for NBC Sports, including the August 2022 agreement for the Big Ten Conference, as well as extensions with the Premier League, NASCAR, PGA TOUR and the reacquisition of the USGA. She joined NBC Sports in 2012 as Director, Business Development.
Prior to joining NBC, Mannapperuma spent three years working at the National Football League in business development, where she completed financial modeling and strategic analyses for the League’s major media rights agreements. She began her career as an investment banker in the technology, media, and telecommunications group at Goldman, Sachs, & Co.
Mannapperuma serves as a co-chair of NBC Sports Group’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council. In 2023, she was named to Sports Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 list.
Mannapperuma graduated from Harvard University with a bachelor’s degree in Economics.
