On Saturday May 13th, Steer For Student Athletes completed the Spring 2017 student athlete intake process of the eleven newest student athletes to enter the Steer program. This cohort of students includes two new students from Palisade Prep (Yonkers, NY), three new students from Careers in Sports High School (Bronx, NY), and six new students from Port Chester High School (Port Chester, NY). With the new cohort, we now have 24 Steer students in Port Chester, 11 Steer students in Careers in Sports, 9 Steer students in Palisade Prep, and 2 Steer students in Wings Academy, coming to a total of 46 students in the entire Steer program. The intake meetings emphasized why we as an organization exist, something we have grown accustomed to now in our fourth school year of operation. All of our recently inducted students displayed the characteristics and core values we look for in a Steer student athlete candidate. Below is a little bit about each new student in the Steer program.
